Handwoven Donegal Tweed Story
All Handwoven Donegal Tweed is still woven by weavers
in their own home, living on the land they love, free to farm,
to fish and to weave something of the beauty of Donegal. From one generation to the next, the craft of handweaving is still passed
down in the cottages of Donegal.
The looms are entirely hand operated and differ very little from 200
years ago. Thread by thread and inch by inch the weaver watches
over his work, taking two days to weave each piece. The Donegal Handweavers' Assocation trademark label certifies
that the tweed is genuine handwoven Donegal tweed.
Donegal is a tapestry of the most breathtaking landscapes, and each piece
of cloth reflects the colourful and wild landscape that has inspired
the weavers for hundreds of years. Just take the tweed between your thumb and forefinger, cllose your eyes and
imagine...the peat's ancient aroma, the roar of the Atlantic,
and the click of the weavers loom. This is Handwoven Donegal Tweed.

7 of these are available from stock - delivery to most locations in the US
typically taking 9 days or less.
